We Create Change

We Create Change

Grade 6 students are working on ways to raise money for Free The Children, to build schools for children who don't have education.
1 Brick= 20$

Chew For Change is another project that we have just finished. On Thursday, Febuary the 6th, we asked the school to bring in their own gum, and 25 cents, (or more).  The money will go to Free The Children for building schools for children.

The money we raised from Chew For Change.

Grade 3 students

This is the presentation that we shared with the school to promote Chew for Change.

On Friday February 7th we continued making our games and planning to advertize for our next initiative Ply for Change. It will run in the gym all day and students drop by to play many games on Scratch Minecraft and cardboard boxes games. We are very excited and it will be as successful as our Chew for Change.

Last year Grade 4 students made Yarnies and sold. They donated the amount of 50$ from last year's sale.

Mr. Corcoran Class also took a great local initiative "Small Gestures Change Life".   https://sites.google.com/a/ocsb.ca/stgabriel-sgcl/

Our second initiative was  Play 4 Change. Every Friday during curiosity camp we would work on creating arcade games out of cardboard to create our mini arcade that would later on be shared with are school.

Presentation about Play 4 change   We explained the initiative with a Google presentation.

Welcoming speech,

Here are the videos of people playing our games and us explaing our games on the day we had Play4Change.

Between Play4Change and Chew4Change we raised $954.85 to build a school for kids around the world in need of shelter.
Play for Change was a great experience that we will never forget , it helped the students to notice how doing small action can make a huge difference in our world.

We Day sign with minecraft

Tara and Jessica cam to visit us at school and meet all the Grade 6's and chat about their arcade games before play4change.

We stand together started with a blanket exercise to explore the history of aboriginal people. We continue learning and provoking the thinking through videos and pictures. We connected with another French class and online shared our point of view about the history and actions taken by Europeans.
