We Scare Hunger 2014

We Scare Hunger

During October,"Free The Children" committee came up with a creative idea by asking the classes to bring in any amount of change ( from 25 cents to $1) to buy thanksgiving dinners for the Ottawa Mission (people who can't afford it). The following week, the committee came out to play with kindergartens. The committee continues to host what we call the"Turkey Tournament" in the next two weeks, The committee hopes to share the "Turkey Tournament" with the rest of the school, celebrating their contribution to the initiative.

On top of all the other projects grade 6 students took part in SGCL's ( Small Gestures Change Lives ) care packages for the homeless. Student were given a list of things to bring in  such as toques, hats, mittens, soaps, shampoos and many other items. These items have been given to SGCL and were handed out to homeless people downtown.
